After a couple of seasons' speculation, Cristiano Ronaldo seems likely to depart for his beloved Real Madrid for a whopping 80 million pounds! Eclipsing the 3 days old, current world record transfer for a footballer, his soon-to-be-team mate Kaka. Unbe-frickin'-lievable.It's Football Manager 2010 stuff with a game hack that just replenished Real's fortune to a gazillion bucks! And wait for it........what about David Villa and Franck Ribery still to come? Easily another 100million yet to spend! The Shiekhs at Man City must be scratching their heads and wondering why isn't this happening with them? Aren't they supposed to be the ones doing the record breaking deals?
Here's the deal with Real Madrid F.C. Owned by members of the royal family, not only do they carry influence throughout the country, they OWN the bank that bankrolls their exorbitant spendings. Rumour has it that Real owes like millions of lires (now Euros) to the bank, which charges them 0% interest and doesn't ever get back their loans.
So now, dirty dealings? We can only speculate. Still, imagine their NEW line-up next season if they get their way: Casillas, Salgado, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Gago, Kaka, Robben, C. Ronaldo, Raul, Huntelaar. How do you fit in Villa, Ribery, van der Vaart, Sneijder, Drenthe, Guti, Heinze, Higuain, Diarra and van Nistlerooy in the team then? I'm comfounded.
Barcelona will be fired up and next season's El Classico will be mouth-watering to say the least.
And ending with foul smells, uncles reeking of stale beer and cigarettes have to be one of the major turn-offs. I mean alchie breath and cigarette breath by themselves isn't all that bad, but combine them together, it's almost up there with rotting fish stink. I call this the 'Ol' Drunk Sailor Stench'.
Oh how I love public transport :)
